Wu Shidao

Wu Shidao wurde 1951 in der Stadt Luoyang in der Provinz Henan geboren. Bereits in frühster Jungend haben seine Eltern sein großes Talent für die Malerei erkannt und gefördert. In 1975 absolvierte er im Fachbereich Malerei der China Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in Luoyang seinen Abschluss. Nach seinem Abschluss unternahm Wu Shidao immer wieder Forschungsreisen ins Ausland, anfänglich in Asien aber später auch in westliche Länder wie die USA und Frankreich. Seit 1983 unterrichtet am Fachbereich Malerei und bildet Meisterschüler an der Tsinghua University aus. Er veröffentlichte verschiedene Artikel über Ästhetik im Bereich der Kunst und Design. Unter seiner Leitung entstand die Künstlervereinigung. „Donglian“ in 2003 mit einer weiten Facette an Stilen und Themen der modernen Malerei.
